Your post ignores one critical factor. The Green revolution in agriculture is what saved the planet from a hunger crisis in the 1970s. The cost? It has depleted aquifers in places, created deforestation and desertification, increased pollution from pesticide and fertilizer run off. In other words, it degraded future resources to feed the present. How foolish to keep expanding our population on a finite planet - we can never create more planet, and our indeed on a path to crash the living systems that support us.

Nobody os serious about Thanos’s solution. That is a straw man. But to continue to expand our population as if we did not live on a finite planet is just plain reckless.
