Whoa! I was with you until the end! It sounds as is you are blaming successful women and their lack of empathy for engendering the hatred of rural white men! I must call bullshit!
First, these women did what those white men could have done more easily…but did not do because of their sense of entitlement - as if it was their right to get all the rewards with none of the effort (Do you suppose success white rural men feel empathy for their unemployed neighbors? Nope).
Second, these men’s anger is not against such women…that would be to admit the women were somehow better than them. No, they have been trained to blame immigrants, gays, and - let’s be honest here - Jews, for ruining their imaginary ideal world. The blame goes to Fox, Trump, and the pernicious right-wing political consultants - Bannon, Miller, Karl Rove and Frank Luntz who strategized how to turn the dissatisfaction of the white rural working class into a political force - a force now bent on destroying our democracy.
