What happens to democracy when one of two parties lies about a fundamental fact - who one the previous election? All the candidates know Trump lost - even Trump - but so long as they persist in standing up and making a blatant lie, there can be no actual debate in any topic. And where’s democracy with no debate between contenders? Trump is a sick old man. But all those folks on stage who regurgitate his big lie have doomed the Republican Party. It’s no longer a party - it’s a lie wearing a suit.
