Well Scott, it is pretty easy to refute your premise! <The war in Ukraine is unprovoked if you believe that America has never ever tried to contain, hobble, or disintegrate Russia.>

I believe America has tried to contain Russia, and that Russia attacked and invaded Ukraine without provocation. Both are true. I think you will find most intelligent people who follow the war also think both are true.

Further, to claim that Russia attacked Ukraine because it was provoked by the US ignores Russia's own statements about the reason for its "special military" cock-up. Rather, it claimed variously that it was de-Nazifying Ukraine, protecting the Russian speaking citizens of Donbas, and, of course, claimed that the nation of Ukraine is itself a fiction and must rightfully be re-absorbed into Russia.

Of course NATO is trying to "contain and hobble" Russia in its intention to wipe Ukraine off the map. I wish NATO was doing more.
