Well and concisely said, Super Mrs. C! And, please, we need to remember how close this election was - with only a percentage between the two parties, and neither with 50% of the vote.

I do think it is incredible so many voted against their best interests —and against the best interests of their neighbors. No doubt racism and sexism played a part.

But also, inflation and prices were the top concerns of voters according to exit polls. Biden/Harris message that inflation was going down did not mean that prices were going down (duh). I believe the Dems never took price gouging seriously enough. They tried, got blocked in Congress, and gave up.
That’s a practical lesson on governance.
Keep at an issue that hurts the people you want to vote for you.
