Those of us who do not want to see Trump re-elected must be very careful not to fall into the weird dichotomy of 2016, when liberals were both dismissive of his chances and fascinated-to-the-point-of-obsession with every move he made, every tweet, every outrage.
I’m also guilty.
Trump will use this indictment to once more focus all eyes on him. He profits from our attention, because it simply stops us from focusing on anything else.
We have to learn to fight him like Perseus fought the snake-haired gorgon - not to stare directly at the foe, but fight behind our shield.
