The Media are Trump’s Useful Idiots

If someone refuses to play by the rules, they should not be allowed to play in the game.

Disclaimer: I’m a travel writer on Medium. Although I think a lot about politics (I co-authored one book about politics, ProTruth) I don’t usually write about it here. But I do follow, read, and respond to several excellent political writers on Medium to keep myself informed and, sometimes, amused). I recommend them highly: Shankar Narayan, Lauren Elizabeth, John Dean, Spike Dolomite, Manny Otiko, Egberto Willies, Nadin Brzezinski, Caren White, Mike Weisser, B Kean.

(I hope some of you politicos pick up in this theme, below, and choose to explore it in more detail).

Imagine a sport in which a player openly flouts the rules, attempts to influence the refs, and declares that unless he wins, the game is rigged. Having lost, he claims the trophy really belongs to him, and he incites his fans to steal it!

Would such an athlete be allowed to compete in the Olympics, or indeed any tournament? No.

Yet, in a contest with much more at stake, the USA seems powerless from disbarring Donald Trump from competing for the highest office in the land.
