The main point stands, in my view: no one (rationally) is saying veganism would stop climate change . Methane production from cattle is a significant “super climate pollutant”, so eating less beef helps. Also, not all beef has the same methane footprint. On one hand, in prairie landscapes, cattle have taken on the important roll of Bison, and they keep prairie landscapes thriving - these are significant carbon sinks. On the other hand, certain seaweeds when added to cattle feed dramatically reduce methane emission. Investments here could make for climate friendly beef - though it leaves the ethics of eating meat out of the equation.
