Thank you for this stimulating article. I so enjoyed your entire reasoning process and precision. I would add that there is another response to one’s awareness of the “monstrous” universe. One does not have to strive for meaning and purpose to spite this amoral and vast reality. One can also choose to embrace it, recognize one’s tiny speck as a part of the whole, and then strive to live your life well. One can find beauty, love, discovery and purpose in such a world without despising it for not conforming to your expectations of how it ought to be.
