Thank you. It’s become all about grabbing attention, hits of dopamine and surges of adrenaline. Bluntly, that works. But it can be resisted - otherwise we would all be glued to our devices 24-7. So how does a news outlet compete on quality journalism when others are screaming about the latest outrage or the end of the world every single day? Well, it does happen. The Economist and the Guardian and Canada’s Globe and Mail to my mind do a not bad job, some of the time - there’s my ringing endorsement!
