So, what I take this to mean is that either people lie to pollsters for sport, and/or, the country is 1/3rd made up of people who are very bad at following through on their best intentions.

If the latter is true, then sometimes a lot more people from one party don’t get around to voting than the other party.

It all depends on the weather on voting day, and how they really feel about their candidate that day.

I was poll watching in Philly today. The line was about 100 people - a 90 minute wait to get through. Some people shook their head and walked away. Said they would vote on Election Day - even though we all know the lines will be longer then.

My pitch to them was: “it’s easier to wait for two hours than four more years”.

But, the few who walked away just had better things to do with their Sunday morning.
