So far, I’ve been I have been impressed with Medium’s new management and their intention to tweak the reward system to prevent it from being gamed - the gaming that employs bot and AIs to extract revenue from the platform that should be going to content writers who want to share ideas.

Nothing you have written disabused me of that notion, though clearly those doing the tweaking have not perfected the system. Honestly, the moment they do, someone will start working on how to cheat it.

So, I respect that this is a hard task, and that any reward system will be targeted and taken advantage of.

Frankly, if I were Medium Management, I would state that they will be changing the algorithms on an irregular basis, and at times simply not paying out for any stories at all - in order to prevent any systematic abuse.

But - I’m not dependent on Medium as a primary income source. I wonder if Medium ever actually intended that? Perhaps they should be more explicit. Frankly I would way prefer what’s on my feed if it did not include listicles and clickbait.
