One of the main tenets of Buddhist philosophy is fundamental emptiness. I studied Western Philosophy long and hard, beating my head against this great epistemilogical problem of which you write. But Buddhism reframes the problem. Instead of "how do we know there is a real physical world?" Buddhism posits that our suffering comes from trying to turn emptiness into something solid. The whole path to Buddhist enlightenment lies in embracing emptiness as a starting point. Now what?
