My thought, Mike, not having seen Mr. MAGAgoo et the event is simpler: his handlers told him to knock off the racist misogyny until they find a better, harsher, attack. The fact he listened to them does not mean Trump is getting milder or smarter. I think he’s scared now of losing (and the jail time that entails). But as we have seen, he can’t keep up a change for the better. I predict he will revert to type.
