And, to simply point out that we are on the path to doom without offering at least a better alternative - how is this helpful? Most of us will life through the frightful transitions likely to come. There will be a “next thing” - the planet won’t be hitting a redo button. We will go on. But in to What? Asimov’s Foundation comes to mind - who’s building the vault for the future? But there will be real world living vaults where enlightenment values endure. How do we do that? Medium writers - get onto it, please!

And, as to culling populations. Well, here’s the easy way: the rich burn way more carbon, and use way more resources than anyone else. That 1% would cull about 30% of our consumption and emissions, right? But let’s be humane, and simply ask them to start living a sustainable lives, like say, the average citizen of Rwanda or Paraguay?
