Maybe what it important is that Barbie provides—at least for the summer—an opportunity to talk about female stereotypes, ideals of beauty, patriarchy, and perhaps most important, portrayals of female characters as having agency and control of their own destinies? I guess I will have to go see the movie in order to join the conversation…
