Martin, I think you make a crucial point: any competent Democrat can beat Trump. Even Biden - I believe. The worst damage comes from the party tearing itself - and the current candidate to pieces. So, I’m glad we are all having this discussion. It would have been better six months ago. Another good reason to always have primaries, right?

For now, Biden is the candidate, and I will work tirelessly for his re-election. If he chooses not to run, I will work tirelessly for whoever the new candidate is. But what I won’t do is tear down any candidate, including Biden. We do not have to luxury of self-dessiccation.

I wish we could come together on this point, the sooner the better.
