Liza, I think we have to realize Trump has a very l’initier script which has no basis in reality. The movie The Apprentice makes it clear he always and only does three things:
1. Attack, attack, attack
2. Deny everything, admit nothing
3. Always declare victory.

No matter what, that’s what he does. Heaven in the face of a tragedy, his response will be an attack.

We have to start playing a smarter game where this is no longer a surprise. ANY opponent that easy to predict gives us an advantage. We have not yet begun to think wisely about any of this.

My advice: yielding to outrage is a weakness we cannot afford. Our emotions blind us to our opportunity for acting swiftly.
