L.A., to your excellent post I would just like to add that there are in fact intersex individuals who do not have the standard XX or XY chromosomes - XXY for example. And there are people with the “standard” chromosomes who display characteristics of the opposite sex for other biological reasons. So, the legislate everyone into one of two boxes is just plain scientifically wrong. Not to mention morally abhorrent.
