JR, what a valuable insight about hope! Hope is a part of binary thinking. We will avert climate disaster or else we will fail. The likely reality will be messy and if we are lucky, unpredictable. Frankly, I wish those in power did more on adaptation, to shock us into the aware press of what life will be like in 20-30-40 years. Say bye to that beach house!

We should be having conversations about schools teaching resilience and survival skills, because future generations won’t get everything delivered to their door bu Amazon and Uber. If we start thinking resilience, then we start changing. Then making choice that slow down the climate crisis become realistic options. Hope - as you so brilliantly gets in the way.
