John, I’m a fan and a follower of yours on Medium. Thanks for this article, and I would like to make a request. Please consider NOT using the name of Trump’s personal media platform in future articles. Why? Because it is an Orwellian abuse of the word “truth”. In the unconscious brain of a reader it puts the concept of Truth right next to what Trump has proclaimed on the site. (Which is usually laced with lies). Journalists unwittingly abet Trump when they do this. I saw a recent Guardian article that merely states Trump made XX statement on his personal media platform. That’s a neutral way of avoiding helping Trump.
For readers, I suggest the following strategy to protect yourself. Pause when you see an Orwellian use of language, and turn it into its opposite in your mind. I do this whenever I see the name of Trump’s platform: I say to myself: “Sociopath Lies”. (See my book, ProTruth: A Practical Plan to Put Truth Back Into Politics for more on how to protect yourself from the unconscious influence of political lies).
