It’s been a pleasure to discover your blog, Fünda. I’m fortunate to have several friends who are strong Muslim women - intelligent, incredibly hard working, unafraid to speak their minds and active in the public sphere. None of them wear the hijab. Of course, that’s their choice, as it should be.

Beyond one’s right and freedom to wear what you please, how do you reconcile the wearing the hijab with the reality your religious choice has become a tool of male oppression in several muslim nations—where women may be beaten for failure to comply?
