I think it’s a waste of precious time and energy to spin conspiracy theories when the story makes sense on the face of it.

I believe we who despise what Trump stands for would be better off repeating the simple and straightforward narrative, which by the way works to our advantage: here it is:

A deluded Registered Republican took as shot at Trump with an AR-15. His motive is not known, but his easy access to a legally purchased assault rifle meant he could kill people. Even presidents are not immune to gun violence.

Trump’s support of the NRA and his open calls for violence have rebounded on him. That’s just karma, or as the Bible has it, “as you sow, so shall you reap.”

As a fellow Communication professional, Brian, I know you know the power of a simple narrative based on the facts. There’s no need for speculation.
