I think I would add to your list of criteria that a county should not be too accessible to waves of migration, or large well armed neighbors. I’m Canadian. What will happen if the US suffers water shortage (due to drought and duh, resource mismanagement)? Will they find a pretext to invade their sparsely populated neighbor?

Same with the Nordics. Will Russia, Poland and Germany politely request help, if their ecology and economy collapses?

And what about migration from Africa and Central America? Where will 100 million people move too? Ain’t no border fence or coast guard going to keep them out.
