I resonate with this more than you could guess. Gilgamesh remains my favorite Mesopotamian epic (ha). Humanity is more half-wolf than dog, I think. And the wolf half remains within, unhappy, but ready for its moment. That can be very destructive…but one’s wolf can integrate and emerge into one’s life, not domesticated, but able to navigate the straight walls while living with a wild heart. Not saying it is easy.
I recommend the book Sand Talk, a critique of ‘civilization’ by an Australian Aboriginal. His main point: it domesticates us, and not in a good way. I think you will like it.
