I like my stories to marinate at least for a few days before finalizing them. It’s easier for me to get the simplest and strongest narrative flow this way. Nobody wants to know everything. Least of all, a chronological accounting of a day in my life. Sometimes it’s not obvious what is worth writing about until it has sat on the shelf a few days.
