How human remains are treated says a great deal about cultures. Are they “objects” to be studied, or are they “subjects” to be respected as ancestors? Europeans do not treat early Europeans as their ancestors. It’s peculiar. Especially when one sees how the bones of the “saints” are venerated at the same time.
