And the current strikes are over raising the full benefits retirement age from 62 to 64 years. If you look at most other EU nations, their retirement age is much higher, not to mention in the US. The goal is not to "raid" their retirement plans, but to make them more solvent. One can support this move while still opposing the benefits the ultra rich have in any capitalist system, including France. But they are two separate issues).
