Hi Ray, I fear you are oversimplifying a complex situation:

Per an NPR spot on this subject:

"Well, they (Biden admin) pointed out that ConocoPhillips has had these leases since 1999. So, this isn't new leasing on federal land. These are old leases.And when a company has leases, they have — the government can't take those away without compensation of some kind. So, the White House says that they didn't have free rein to do whatever they wanted here.

And, while I too wish Biden could have done more, what he did bake into law in the artfully named Inflation Reduction Act was a significant ramp up of renewables.

Sufficient? Hell no. But a bigger step than any other president has ever made in addressing the Climate Crisis. So, some credit to Joe?
