Hi Mike - the length of a tradition is not the measure of its future sustainability, is it? The French monarchy, Soviet Communism, heck, the Roman Republic - all had good long runs and were toppled quickly.

While I don’t think that would happen in the US if Trump won again (due to his incompetence and lack of interest in governing), I do think he has attracted around him cunning folk who want to bring about this kind of upheaval. So, I do not share your sanguinity!
