Hi Brian, I recall museum models in Bulgaria in the 90s that showed perhistoric villages on stilts., But my archelogists frineds told me these were constructed trying ot meake sense of the ruins at the bottom of the sea. They revised their thinking that actually the shore line was much, much further out from where it is now, because of the inundation by the Med. around 5000 BC.
