Esther, thank you for this poetic homage to time. It’s a topic I’ve long reflected upon, too. A few years ago, I asked a whole bunch of people to explain time to me in a metaphor - specifically, where is the past, present and future located? Much to my surprise, most people said they never really thought about it. And then each proceeded to give a completely unique metaphor of this understanding of time - a car windshield, a view from a mountain, a river, a rope. It was such a strange experience for me. It made me wonder - it time a “thing” at all, or do we only ever perceive time-within-consciousness?
