Brilliant! One way they are already doing that is with the friends of Medium accounts. ($150/year), which I’ve done. It means the stories I read and engage with pay more to those writers. So, I get to reward the writers I like best. I think they could do more with that concept - like, by making it easier to “buy a coffee” for good writers.
