Ah, but this is a very simplistic take on science. Luckily, I’ve worked with enough scientists in my career to know they actually don’t believe their research reveals “reality and laws” in an absolute sense, but rather they produce ever more refined models that explain phenomena — but always with the caveat that future research will doubtless further refine or maybe even overthrow their theories. The eternal impermanence of scientific findings is what differentiates it from other systems of thought —except Buddhism (at least as the Dalai Lama explains it, Buddhism and science use the same methodology).
See the book Spheres of Perception for a great model of how this works in practice. Disclaimer: I’m the publisher of that book. The writing is horribly complex except for the first chapter, which is all you need read to get the gist).
